It’s been over two years since I last posted on here. Instead of writing about the live music I was experiencing, I decided to just enjoy and take lots of pics. Now I’m back, to write about new and upcoming music, and performances. Please send me any music you’ve heard, or written/performed yourself, or any shows I should check out. I’m looking to blog regularly. And in case you don’t know me, I take pics of artists in their live element. A LOT OF PICS. Unless otherwise specified, all the pics I’m going to post on here are mine. You’re free to repost – just be sure to remind people where you got them. And if you’re not following me already, catch me on Instagram: BlogOnJarvis

The Raconteurs @ Amoeba Music in Hollywood, CA. 6.26.2019
My friend Doug and I braved mid-afternoon LA traffic on Wednesday, coming from Orange County, to catch this record store appearance from The Raconteurs. I really should thank Doug, who up at Amoeba last week for another live set, for buying me a vinyl copy of their just released album, Help Us Stranger. Had he not done this, I most likely would have just headed home after work.
But I’m glad he did. The line was around the building, but Amoeba knows their stuff; we all got in pretty quickly. After a brief wait, the band treated us to six cuts off the new album. They sounded sharp, and rocked our faces off during their set. Of course, Jack White was probably the main draw (and the subject of most of my pics), but the band sounded tight. As they played, I realized how cool (and lucky) it was to have them play in this much smaller record store environment. Here’s to hoping they play Coachella in 2020. You can see them at the Greek Theatre (LA) on July 26th, or the Fox Theater in Oakland on July 23 & 24 (for my Nor Cal peeps).
Setlist: 1) Bored and Razed, 2) Don’t Bother Me, 3) Help Me Stranger, 4) Only Child, 5) Now That You’re Gone, 6) Sunday Driver

Peeps to Follow
In a new addition to this blog, I’m going to regularly include someone different you should follow on social media. I want to focus on artists and bands, producers, writers, photographers, and people that make their mark on the world of music.
The first page is for those of you looking to know what’s coming up in the world of music, specifically in the LA area. I give you buzzbands.la, with the legendary Kevin Bronson at the helm. Biggest perk: Every week, they post a list of most acts playing the LA/OC area, where they’re playing, and what days. From the smallest rooms to the largest venues, this is a great starting point for those of you looking to catch a live show. They also post a series of great show reviews, and even better pictures. Links are listed below. Give them a follow.
