Happy New Year! After some teasing from Coachella on Twitter (see below), they finally released the lineup last night. And it’s pretty damn awesome. How did I do on my guessing last time? Here are the highlights from the lineup below:

- The headliners, which already leaked, were accurate: Rage Against the Machine (who were at the first Coachella), Travis Scott, and Frank Ocean. The big question some people are wondering: will Frank Ocean be there come April 12? I think so – Coachella is the most popular festival on the planet.
- Lana Del Rey and Thom Yorke are both on there (both predictions), but there’s no My Chemical Romance. Rumor is that they wanted a headliner spot, and when they didn’t get it, they dropped. This could explain why Calvin Harris (who headlined in 2016) is on the lineup as a sub.
- Also, I noticed that Dua Lipa isn’t on there. Given that she’s about to blow up with a new album, she would have made the perfect artist. Just a few years ago, she was the world’s most-streamed female artist.
- However, Flume is on there, which is a big get. While I didn’t predict him being on there due to being at other previously announced obligations, he’ll be a packed Saturday set.
- Danny Elfman is on there! He’s the Hans Zimmer get for 2020. If you don’t know him, you know his music, especially his soundtracks. Everything from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” to “Batman (The one with Michael Keaton),” Elfman has left his stamp on countless movies/television shows. Additionally, he was a key member of eighties outfit, Oingo Boingo. According to his tweet, this could mean we could get a career-spanning set. As long as we get “Dead Man’s Party…”

- Other picks I predicted: Megan Thee Stallion, Carly Rae Jepsen, Rex Orange County, Lil Uzi Vert, FKA Twigs, Disclosure, Run The Jewels, Caribou, King Gizzard, Denzel Curry, Big Wild, Sasha Sloan, Lane 8, Anitta, and Duke Dumont. Not a bad percentage. A large thanks goes to the peeps on Reddit.
- I am bummed that The Chemical Brothers are not there. Same with Sturgill Simpson and/or Tyler Childers (though I knew they were a slim chance).
- From what I’ve read online, this is the first time GRiZ has officially been booked at Coachella. He was such a fun set at Outside Lands a few years back.
There are a ton of artists on here I’m excited about, but I’ll save that for later in the year, as we get closer to April. In the meantime, here’s a playlist via Spotify.
New Music Spinning…

“Monkey Business” – Pet Shop Boys // Because why wouldn’t your year start out with the latest cut from Pet Shop Boys.
Just – Lane 8 // On the heels of the Coachella announcement, I’m getting my electronic fix this morning.
