JarFive Coachella is next week! The first weekend of Coachella starts a week from today, and I’m starting to get excited. This is my first time going Weekend 1, so I’m going to be just as surprised by everything, as everyone else. Here are a few things (thanks in part to the Reddit sub): There’s…

JarFive Beyoncé releases “Cowboy Carter.” Arguably the most heavily promoted and written about album year to date, “Cowboy Carter” was released last night. I’m not a huge Beyoncé fan, but I always give her albums a listen. With all the talk of this being a country album, at its core it’s still a Beyoncé album,…

Happy Spring!
JarFive Coachella adds extra stage, extra acts. This week, Coachella added a new stage, Quasar, which will be solely devoted to a handful of electronic acts. According to the Coachella Insta, “Quasar is not a tent and therefore not a desert.” Arguably the high point for Weekend 1 is Jamie xx – Floating Points –…

JarFive Glastonbury lineup is out (most of it) Glastonbury released the bulk of their lineup early Thursday morning, led by Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA, and Shania Twain. The reactions have been mixed, as the general consensus continues that festival lineups are weaker this year. Even so, tickets sold out long before the lineup release, as…

This is her first self-produced album, and includes friends like Dave Grohl and Josh Freese, among others. The video for the song has sparked…

JarFive Vampire Weekend is back with two new songs It’s been a minute, but Vampire Weekend is back, with two new songs leading to their upcoming album. “Capricorn” and “Gen- X Cops” both have accompanying videos out, highlighted below. IDLES have a new album out I first caught IDLES at Coachella in 2022, and their…

Women rule this week’s JarFive
JarFive Brittany Howard’s new album “What Now” Brittany Howard’s latest album gives me another reason to look forward to Coachella in two months. After teasing the record with the electronic single “Prove It To You,” the album demonstrates more variety from the enigmatic artist. While I may never get to see her perform Alabama Shakes…

Groundhog Day Edition
JarFive boygenius taking a break. On the eve of Grammy weekend, nominated trio boygenius (Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker) are apparently taking a break. They played a couple of acoustic sets last night, at a secret location in LA. Attendees claim that the group announced their hiatus. I’ve had a few opportunities to…
