Coachella Lineup is Out
JarFive Coachella Lineup is out! After endless anxiety on the Reddit Coachella sub, the lineup was finally released on Tuesday afternoon. There was a hint earlier in the day of No Doubt playing the festival. After all was said and speculated, the headliners remained the same: Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator, and Doja Cat.…

The Lounge Returns
The blog is back in 2024, with new blogs coming out every Friday. I just wanted to say Happy New Year with a short blog, and welcome you to the lounge. JarFIVE Coachella Lineup delayed? With the second week of the year coming to an end, the Coachella lineup still has not been released. There’s plenty…

Coachella Weekend 2 Review/Weekend Edition
Coachella Weekend 2 It’s been a week since Weekend 2, and I’m still exhausted. I caught part or all of almost 50 acts over the weekend. The weather sat squarely in the mid-90’s all throughout. Since I’ve already detailed the festival itself, here are some of my personal highlights, and a few pics below I…

Midweek Check-In
JarFive (Midweek Edition) Frank Ocean’s set at Coachella Weekend 1 – Much has already been written about Frank Ocean’s set on Sunday evening. Weirdly enough, most media coverage I’ve read has glossed over the issues, instead highlighting that he had a sprained ankle, his brother passing away in 2020, and him being forced to end…

Coachella is finally here After devoting three posts in a row to some of the acts that are going to be at Coachella, arguably the most popular music festival is set to start today. Coachella Day 3/J Dilla/Labrinth/Ohana Fest
The JarFIVE (Coachella Day 3 Edition) Frank Ocean – Arguably the biggest get for the festival this year, Frank Ocean is set to headline the last night of the festival. As previously mentioned on here, this is his first festival set since 2017. Some fans are worried if he’ll even show up (this April Fool’s…

Coachella – Day 2
The JarFIVE (Coachella Day 2 Edition) ROSALÍA – Rosalía is a massive global star, which I was reminded of when I went to Barcelona last year (she was born there). She’s headlining Primavera in Spain this year, and is the sub under BLACKPINK this year for Coachella. Coachella has done a great job of booking…

Coachella – Part 1/Format Festival/Blue Note Jazz Festival
With Coachella just a few weeks away, I’m devoting three separate posts (one for each day) to what is still considered the most popular music festival. First, a few general things about this lineup. As I write this, Weekend 2 of the festival still has not sold out. As someone going that weekend, I’m looking…

Back to Blogging – 2023 Edition
It’s been a year since my last blog, which was on April 15, 2022. So what happened? Why did I stop before live music really got going? I don’t really have a good excuse, so I’ll give you a bad one: I got bombarded with live music festivals. Shortly, after my last blog, I went…

Festivals, New Music, and a Bandsplaining Podcast
Ohana Fest Ohana Festival in Dana Point, CA, announced the lineup for their three day event later this fall. If you’ve never been, this event is relatively smaller, with two main stages. If I remember correctly, there wasn’t overlap between acts, so you can catch everyone if you’re willing to pivot between stages. A few…
